Summary of Position
The Underwriting Technical Assistant position will be responsible for development and implementation of process and procedures for the Inland Marine underwriting team, along with data entry and quote/policy/endorsement processing for business submission as needed.

Demonstrate effective interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills through both verbal and written communication with the ability to share knowledge and work effectively in a team environment in a professional manner with all levels of company staff including management and other departments as well as Company clients.
Ability to work independently and use personal computer, calculator, company automation system and proficiency in various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of times, communicate via telephone, and operate a computer, and copy machine.

Position Functions
- Development and Implementation of:
- Workflow processes, to ensure efficiency, accuracy, quality of data, and customer experience from centralized service center.
- Procedures and adherence to service standards to ensure compliance to Company regulatory, corporate, and operational requirements.
- Liaison for all internal projects, testing, and procedure development working with various teams and departments, including Inland Marine Operations/Patra and Underwriters, FIG Operations, IT, and Business Intelligence & Innovation.
- Support on a variety of tasks, including working with Underwriters to prepare quotes, policies, and endorsements as per Underwriters instructions, file management, coding sheets/concentration information and data entry in our proprietary intranet system.
- Review benchmarks with Principals regularly to ensure targets are being met.
- Complete special projects / other administrative duties as requested.

- Strong quality consciousness and demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Property & Casualty Producer’s License or a willing to obtain one.
- Strong computer, communication, and presentation skills are a must.
