Job Summary:
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team for a one-year underwriting trainee program. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals looking to start a career in underwriting. As a trainee, you will receive comprehensive training on risk assessment, policy evaluation, and underwriting principles to develop the skills needed to make informed decisions on insurance applications.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in structured training programs to learn:
  • Insurance fundamentals
  • General underwriting principles, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Learn and apply company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Develop an understanding of different insurance products and market trends.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless underwriting operations.
Trainees will work within our various Underwriting disciplines on an 11-week rotating basis and will assist with the following:
  • Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications, financial documents, and risk factors.
  • Analyze data to determine policy eligibility, coverage amounts, and pricing.
  • Work closely with senior underwriters, agents, and clients to gather necessary information.
  • Support the preparation of reports and documentation for underwriting decisions.
  • Assist in reviewing and processing policy renewals and endorsements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, insurance, risk management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior internship or work experience in insurance, finance, or a related field is a plus but not required.
